⚡Octopus EnergyPricing
Half-hourly electricity prices from the Octopus Agile tariff. Prices update daily and vary by UK region. We use their free public API — no account needed.
🌿 National Grid ESOCarbon
Real-time carbon intensity data from the National Grid. This tells us how much of the electricity on the grid right now is coming from renewables vs fossil fuels.
The status light
The coloured ring on the homepage updates every 30 minutes:
Green — cheap and clean. Good time to run appliances.
Amber — moderate. Not the worst, not the best.
Red — peak period. Hold off if you can.
